SD DOH: 627 total new COVID-19 cases, nine deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 423 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 145,557.

Nine new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,384.

113 confirmed cases were reported West River: 39 in Pennington County, 20 in Oglala Lakota County, 10 each in Lawrence and Meade Counties, seven in Butte County, six in Fall River County, five in Tripp County, four in Lyman County, three each in Custer, Gregory and Jackson Counties and one each in Bennett, Corson and Dewey Counties.

110 probable cases were reported West River: 66 in Dewey County, eight each in Pennington, Todd and Ziebach Counties, four each in Gregory and Perkins Counties, two each in Corson, Haakon, Lyman and Stanley Counties and one each in Bennett, Butte, Meade and Oglala Lakota Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,752 cases are considered active, that number is up from 7,647 on Tuesday.

An additional 513 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 160,280.


Data are provisional and subject to change. Data are updated daily (Monday – Friday) by about 12:00 p.m. and include cases reported through 1:00 p.m. the previous day. Data from Saturday and Sunday will be included in Tuesday’s update.
