SD DOH: 575 total new COVID-19 cases, eight deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 477 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 141,241.

Eight new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,328.

142 confirmed cases were reported West River: 58 in Pennington County, 19 in Dewey County, 14 in Meade County, 10 each in Butte and Fall River Counties, nine in Lawrence County, eight in Todd County, four in Custer County, two each in Corson, Tripp, and Gregory Counties, and one each in Perkins, Stanley, Lyman, and Mellette Counties.

20 probable cases were reported West River: six in Pennington County, three in Todd County, two each in Stanley, Lyman, and Gregory Counties, and one each in Perkins, Corson, Lawrence, Haakon, and Tripp Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,253 cases are considered active, that number is up from 7,080 on Wednesday.

An additional 394 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 155,286.
