SD DOH: 574 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 383 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 140,761.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,320.

140 confirmed cases were reported West River: 73 in Pennington County, 18 in Meade County, 16 in Lawrence County, 10 in Butte County, seven in Fall River County, five in Custer County, three each in Gregory and Todd County, two in Jackson County and one each in Bennett, Lyman and Perkins Counties.

38 probable cases were reported West River: 12 in Pennington County, nine in Todd County, four in Perkins County, three in Mellette County, two each in Gregory Lyman and Stanley Counties and one each in Meade, Oglala Lakota and Tripp Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,080 cases are considered active, that number is up from 6,950 on Tuesday.

An additional 439 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 154,892.
