SD DOH: 568 total new COVID-19 cases, one death reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 414 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 121,282.

154 new probable cases were reported.

289 total cases of the B.1.617.2 – or Delta – variant have been reported so far.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,093.

198 confirmed cases were reported West River: 96 in Pennington County, 25 in Meade County, 21 in Lawrence County, 10 each in Dewey and Butte Counties, nine in Jackson County, eight in Oglala Lakota County, four each in Custer and Tripp Counties, three each in Fall River and Todd Counties, two in Ziebach County, and one each in Stanley, Mellette, and Gregory Counties.

64 probable cases were reported West River: 36 in Pennington County, four each in Meade and Gregory Counties, three each in Haakon and Todd Counties, two each in Ziebach, Lawrence, and Stanley Counties, and one each in Dewey, Butte, Custer, Fall River, Oglala Lakota, Jackson, Jones, and Lyman Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,364 cases are considered active, that number is up from 7,263 on Tuesday.

An additional 466 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 129,403.
