SD DOH: 513 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 395 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 143,911.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,357.

118 confirmed cases were reported West River: 38 in Pennington County, 16 in Lawrence County, 15 in Meade County, 14 in Oglala Lakota, eight in Butte County, six each in Fall River and Todd Counties, four each in Dewey and Lyman Counties, two each in Perkins and Gregory Counties, and one each in Harding, Mellette, and Tripp Counties.

24 probable cases were reported West River: eight in Pennington County, four in Fall River County, three in Stanley County, two in Bennett County, and one each in Perkins, Meade, Lawrence, Haakon, Lyman, Fall River, and Gregory Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,572 cases are considered active, that number is up from 7,416 on Thursday.

An additional 354 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 158,342.
