SD DOH: 50 new COVID-19 cases statewide, seven West River

PIERRE, S.D. – Tuesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show a total of 9,713 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 50 from Monday.

 Seven of Tuesday’s new cases are West River – Two each in Pennington, Meade and Corson Counties and one in Lawrence County.

Across the state, 1,060 cases are considered active. That number is down from 1,146 on Monday. An additional 136 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 8,507.

A total of 57 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 887 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were recorded, leaving the statewide total at 146.
