SD DOH: 474 total new COVID-19 cases, nine deaths statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 349 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 126,035.

Nine new deaths were reported, putting the state death toll at 2,142.

156 confirmed cases were reported West River: 62 in Pennington County, 30 in Meade County, 19 in Lawrence County, 11 in Fall River County, 10 in Butte County, five in Oglala Lakota County, four each in Mellette and Todd Counties, three each in Bennett and Gregory Counties, and one each in Lyman and Tripp Counties.

56 probable cases were reported West River: 19 in Todd County, 17 in Pennington County, five in Butte County, four in Dewey County, three in Gregory County, two each in Ziebach and Lawrence Counties, and one each in Meade, Haakon, Stanley, and Mellette Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,388 cases are considered active, that number is down from 7,461 on Wednesday.

An additional 563 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 135,488.
