SD DOH: 466 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 337 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 131,174.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,205.

145 confirmed cases were reported West River: 59 in Pennington County, 23 in Meade County, 17 in Lawrence County, 16 in Butte County, 11 in Custer County, six in Oglala Lakota County, four in Fall River County, three in Todd County, two in Ziebach County and one each in Bennett, Dewey, Jackson and Stanley Counties.

59 probable cases were reported West River: 26 in Dewey County, 12 in Pennington County, seven in Ziebach County, four in Stanley County, two each in Haakon and Harding Counties and one each in Corson, Custer, Fall River, Lawrence, Lyman and Mellette Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,723 cases are considered active, that number is up from 5,679 on Tuesday.

An additional 420 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 143,626.
