SD DOH: 42 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 20 in West River

PIERRE, S.D. – Monday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show a total of 7,105 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 42 from Sunday.

20 of Monday’s new cases are West River – 15 in Pennington County, four in Oglala Lakota County and one in Haakon County.

Across the state, 945 cases are considered active. That number is up from 903 on Sunday. No new coronavirus recoveries have been reported, leaving the statewide total number of recovered at 6,063.

A total of 59 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 692 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new coronavirus deaths have been reported, leaving the statewide total at 97.
