SD DOH: 446 total new COVID-19 cases, five deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 363 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 122,489.

296 total cases of the B.1.617.2 – or Delta – variant have been reported so far.

Five new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,105.

145 confirmed cases were reported West River: 74 in Pennington County, 16 each in Meade and Lawrence Counties, eight each in Butte and Todd Counties, six in Oglala Lakota County, four in Dewey County, three in Jackson County, two each in Corson, Custer, and Fall River Counties, and one each in Harding, Stanley, Haakon, and Bennett Counties.

24 probable cases were reported West River: 12 in Pennington County, four in Todd County, three each in Lawrence and Jackson Counties, and one each in Meade and Custer Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,927  cases are considered active, that number is up from 7,794 on Friday.

An additional 308 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 130,370.
