SD DOH: 445 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 146 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — Wednesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show 445 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of cases to 19,634.

146 of Wednesday’s new cases are West River — 50 in Pennington County, 20 in Lawrence County, 15 in Tripp County, 12 in Meade County, eight in Lyman County, seven in Oglala Lakota County, five in Butte County, four each in Corson, Custer, Dewey and Todd Counties, three in Gregory County, two each in Harding, Perkins and Stanley Counties and one each in Fall River, Haakon, Jackson and Mellette Counties.

Across the state, 3,108 cases are considered active. That number is up from 2,817 on Tuesday. An additional 154 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 16,170.

A total of 192 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 1,367 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide death total at 202.
