SD DOH: 441 total new COVID-19 cases, seven deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 339 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 134,939.

Seven new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,260.

140 confirmed cases were reported West River: 70 in Pennington County, 15 in Meade County, 14 in Lawrence County, nine in Fall River County, eight in Butte County, five in Oglala Lakota County, four in Tripp County, three each in Corson, Dewey, and Todd Counties, two each in Custer and Bennett Counties, and one each in Perkins and Mellette Counties.

31 probable cases were reported West River: 14 in Pennington County, six in Tripp County, two each in Lawrence, Oglala Lakota, and Todd Counties, and one each in Gregory, Perkins, Haakon, Lyman, and Jones Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,782 cases are considered active, that number is up from 5,662 on Wednesday.

An additional 314 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 148,522.
