SD DOH: 431 total new COVID-19 cases, seven deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 348 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 135,286.

Seven new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,267.

135 confirmed cases were reported West River: 47 in Pennington County, 15 in Lawrence County, 12 in Ziebach County, 11 in Dewey County, nine each in Meade, Butte, and Fall River Counties, six in Perkins County, four each in Custer and Todd Counties, three in Oglala Lakota County, two in Bennett County, and one each in Corson, Jones, Jackson, and Mellette Counties.

25 probable cases were reported West River: 12 in Pennington County, three in Dewey County, two in Fall River County, and one each in Harding, Meade, Lawrence, Stanley, Lyman, Jones, Custer, and Gregory Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,857 cases are considered active, that number is up from 5,782 on Thursday.

An additional 349 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 148,871.
