SD DOH: 42 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Monday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 30 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 108,478.

12 of the 47 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 1,993.

Four confirmed cases were reported West River: two in Pennington County and one each in Lawrence and Todd Counties.

Three new probable cases were reported West River: two in Custer County and one in Todd County.

In South Dakota, 828 cases are considered active, that number is down from 890 on Friday.

An additional 102 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 120,865.

71 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,503 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
