SD DOH: 418 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 297 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 139,365.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,305.

100 confirmed cases were reported West River: 53 in Pennington County, nine in Meade County, eight in Lawrence County, six in Butte County, five in Todd County, four in Fall River County, three each in Custer and Dewey Counties, two each in Gregory, Lyman and Stanley Counties and one each in Jackson, Tripp and Ziebach Counties.

39 probable cases were reported West River: 20 in Pennington County, seven in Todd County, three in Lyman County, two each in Dewey and Ziebach Counties and one each in Custer, Fall River, Gregory, and Stanley Counties..

In South Dakota, 6,820 cases are considered active, that number is up from 6,775 on Thursday.

An additional 368 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 153,250.
