SD DOH: 412 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 124 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Sunday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 412 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of cases to 21,541.

No new deaths have been reported.

124 of Saturday’s new cases are West River — 62 in Pennington County, 18 in Meade County, 11 in Oglala Lakota County, seven in Lawrence and Tripp Counties, five in Butte and Lyman Counties, three in Custer County, two in Gregory County, and one in Fall River, Haakon, Perkins and Ziebach Counties.

Across the state, 3,790 cases are considered active. That number is up from 3,742 on Saturday. An additional 360 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 17,533.

A total of 216 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 1,473 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.
