SD DOH: 396 total new COVID-19 cases, one death reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 245 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 133,077.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,235.

117 confirmed cases were reported West River: 57 in Pennington County, 13 in Meade County, 10 in Lawrence County, eight in Custer County, seven in Butte County, six in Fall River County, five in Todd County, three in Oglala Lakota County, two each in Stanley, Lyman, and Jackson Counties, and one each in Bennett and Tripp Counties.

36 probable cases were reported West River: 26 in Pennington County, five in Lyman County, two in Meade County, and one each in Corson, Lawrence, and Custer Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,421 cases are considered active, that number is up from 5,393 on Thursday.

An additional 367 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 146,826.
