SD DOH: 342 total new COVID-19 cases, five deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 267 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 129,743.

Five new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll at 2,182.

110 confirmed cases were reported West River: 61 in Pennington County, 11 each in Lawrence and Oglala Lakota Counties, nine in Meade County, four in Harding County, three each in Corson and Bennett Counties, two in Fall River County, and one each in Dewey, Butte, Custer, Lyman, Todd, and Gregory Counties.

21 probable cases were reported West River: nine in Pennington County, five in Lyman County, and one each in Meade, Butte, Stanley, Custer, Fall River, Todd, and Mellette Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,963 cases are considered active, that number is down from 6,089 on Wednesday.

An additional 462 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 141,071.
