SD DOH: 320 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 87 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — Tuesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show 320 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of cases to 19,189.

87 of Tuesday’s new cases are West River — 37 in Pennington County, 13 in Meade County, nine in Gregory County, eight in Lawrence County, four each in Perkins and Dewey Counties, three each in Custer and Todd Counties, two each in Butte and Tripp Counties and one each in Corson and Jackson Counties.

Across the state, 2,817 cases are considered active. That number is down from 2,890 on Monday. An additional 393 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 16,170.

A total of 178 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 1,323 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide death total at 202.
