SD DOH: 319 total new COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — On Friday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 247 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 95,473.

72 of the 319 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

11 South Dakota residents have died from coronavirus-related complications. The state death toll is now 1,684.

73 confirmed cases were reported West River: 43 in Pennington County, five in Meade County, four each in Bennett, Butte and Todd Counties, three in Tripp County, two each in Fall River, Jones and Lawrence Counties and one each in Custer, Dewey, Mellette and Tripp Counties.

13 new probable cases were reported West River: eight in Dewey County, two each in Stanley and Todd Counties and one in Jones County.

In South Dakota, 4,090 cases are considered active, that number is up from 4,089 on Thursday. An additional 649 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 100,942.

177 people are currently hospitalized, with a total of 6,153 people have ever been hospitalized.
