SD DOH: 30 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 1 death in Meade County

PIERRE, S.D. – Friday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show 30 new COVID-19 cases statewide.

One Meade County resident has died from coronavirus-related complications. This is the first COVID-related death in Meade County and the only recorded death for Friday. Statewide, 65 have died.

A total of 5,277 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 30 from Thursday. 13 of Friday’s new cases are West River – Nine in Pennington County, two in Todd County, one in Oglala Lakota County and one in Lawrence County.

Across the state, 1,033 cases are considered active. That number is up from 1,020 on Thursday. An additional 15 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 4,179.

A total of 83 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 467 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.
