SD DOH: 295 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 230 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 131,908.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,220.

110 confirmed cases were reported West River: 54 in Pennington County, 22 in Meade County, seven in Lawrence County, four each in Butte and Oglala Lakota County, three each in Dewey and Custer Counties, two each in Fall River and Bennett Counties, one each in Harding, Perkins, Corson, Ziebach, Haakon, Lyman, Jackson, Todd, and Tripp Counties.

14 probable cases were reported West River: five in Pennington County, two in Custer County, and one each in Lawrence, Stanley, Lyman, Jackson, Todd, Tripp, and Gregory Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,625 cases are considered active, that number is down from 5,663 on Friday.

An additional 331 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 144,758.
