SD DOH: 264 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, 31 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Wednesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 192 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 103,918.

72 of the 264 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 1,935.

24 confirmed cases were reported West River: Eight in Pennington County, seven in Meade County, three in Tripp County, two in Butte County and one each in  Custer, Dewey, Lyman and Oglala Lakota Counties.

Seven new probable cases were reported West River: two each in Jones and Ziebach Counties and one each in Dewey, Gregory and Pennington Counties.

In South Dakota, 2,522 cases are considered active, that number is up from 2,436 on Tuesday.

An additional 292 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 113,302.

104 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,005 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
