SD DOH: 25 new COVID-19 cases statewide, nine West River

PIERRE, S.D. – Monday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show a total of 7,524 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 25 from Sunday.

Nine of Monday’s new cases are West River – six in Pennington County, two in Dewey County and one each in Custer and Meade Counties

Across the state, 872 cases are considered active. That number is up from 868 on Sunday. An additional 21 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 6,543.

A total of 63 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 742 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state total at 109.
