SD DOH: 244 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, 49 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Tuesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 177 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 93,276.

67 of the 244 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 1,585.

49 confirmed cases were reported West River: 25 in Pennington County, nine in Meade County, four in Oglala Lakota County, three in Butte County, two each in Lawrence, Perkins and Todd Counties and one each in Corson and Custer County.

10 new probable cases were reported West River: two each in Dewey, Lyman, Pennington and Stanley Counties and one each in Meade and Oglala Lakota Counties.

In South Dakota, 4,751 cases are considered active, that number is down from 5,102 on Monday. An additional 595 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 97,407.

240 people are currently hospitalized, with a total of 5,943 people have ever been hospitalized.
