SD DOH: 238 total new COVID-19 cases, 37 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Saturday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 175 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 105,396.

63 of the 238 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 1,946.

32 confirmed cases were reported West River: 14 in Pennington County, five each in Custer and Lyman Counties, two each in Meade, Oglala Lakota, and Mellette Counties, and one each in Jackson and Todd Counties.

Five new probable cases were reported West River: two each in Stanley and Jackson Counties, and one in Haakon County.

In South Dakota, 2,413 cases are considered active, that number is down from 2,465 on Friday.

An additional 290 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 115,346.

102 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,116 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
