SD DOH: 23 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Wednesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 14 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,152.

Nine cases are considered as new probable cases.

Two new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,029.

Seven confirmed cases were reported West River: two each in Butte and Pennington Counties and one each in Custer, Gregory and Lawrence Counties.

Six new probable cases were reported West River: four in Pennington County and one each in Fall River and Jones Counties.

In South Dakota, 162 cases are considered active, that number is up from 151 on Tuesday.

An additional nine people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,277.

20 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 6,877 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
