SD DOH: 23 total new COVID-19 cases, three deaths statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Thursday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 21 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,033.

Two of the 23 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

Three new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,026.

Eight confirmed cases were reported West River: seven in Pennington County and one in Meade County.

One new probable case was reported West River in Jones County.

In South Dakota, 230 cases are considered active, that number is up from 221 on Wednesday.

An additional 70 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,079.

35 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,014 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
