SD DOH: 220 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 41 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Sunday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 220 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing its total number of cases to 15,109.

No new deaths were reported.

41 cases were reported in west river – 19 in Pennington County, six in Meade County, two in Butte, Custer, Dewey, Fall River, Gregory, Lawrence, and Oglala Lakota Counties, and one in both Bennett and Jones Counties.

In Pennington County, a total of 1,617 people have tested positive for the virus while 1,140 have recovered.

A total of 3,018 cases are considered active, down 39 from Saturday.

259 people recovered from the virus on Saturday. A total of 11,918 recoveries been reported.

A total of 81 people are currently hospitalized. 1,079 people have ever been hospitalized.
