SD DOH: 212 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, 54 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Tuesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 167 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 99,175.

45 of the 212 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide death toll at 1,863.

47 confirmed cases were reported West River: 30 in Pennington County, five in Meade County, four each in Lawrence and Tripp Counties and one each in Butte, Custer, Dewey and Fall River Counties.

Seven probable cases were reported West River: three in Pennington County, two in Jackson County and one each in Haakon and Stanley Counties.

In South Dakota, 1,938 cases are considered active, that number is up from 1,933 on Monday.

An additional 207 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 107,745.

91 people are currently hospitalized, with a total of 6,548 people have ever been hospitalized.
