SD DOH: 200 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, 36 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Friday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 158 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 104,252.

42 of the 200 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 1,938.

33 confirmed cases were reported West River: 16 in Pennington County, six in Custer County, three in Lawrence County, two each in Dewey, Meade and Oglala Lakota Counties and one each in Lyman and Ziebach Counties.

Three new probable cases were reported West River:  one each in Jackson, Oglala Lakota and Perkins Counties.

In South Dakota, 2,417 cases are considered active, that number is down from 2,487 on Thursday.

An additional 267 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 113,564.

103 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,035 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
