SD DOH: 200 total new COVID-19 cases, one death statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — On Saturday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 116 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 106,439.

84 of the 200 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 1,953.

20 confirmed cases were reported West River: 13 in Pennington County, three in Meade County, two in Custer County, and one each in Lawrence and Stanley Counties.

Six new probable cases were reported West River: two in Pennington County and one each in Stanley, Custer, Lyman, and Oglala Lakota Counties.

In South Dakota, 2,210 cases are considered active, that number is up from 2,201 on Friday.

An additional 190 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 116,893.

96 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,204 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
