SD DOH: 195 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 52 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — Tuesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show 195 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of cases to 16,994.

 52 of Tuesday’s new cases are West River — 27 in Pennington County, 13 in Meade County, five each in Gregory and Tripp Counties and one each in Oglala Lakota and Perkins Counties.

Across the state, 2,386 cases are considered active. That number is down from 2,499 on Monday. An additional 306 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 14,424.

A total of 133 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 1,195 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide death total at 184.
