SD DOH: 191 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 37 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — Monday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show 191 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of cases to 15,300.

 37 of Monday’s new cases are West River — 18 in Pennington County, four in Meade County, three each in Butte and Lawrence Counties, two each in Fall River, Gregory and Tripp Counties and one each in Haakon, Oglala Lakota and Stanley Counties.

Across the state, 2,892 cases are considered active. That number is down from 3,018 on Sunday. An additional 317 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 12,235.

A total of 78 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 1,084 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide total at 173.
