SD DOH: 17 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, five West River

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Monday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 13 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,051.

Four of the 17 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 2,026.

Four confirmed cases were reported West River: two in Dewey County and one each in Meade and Pennington Counties.

One new probable case was reported West River in Meade County.

In South Dakota, 215 cases are considered active, that number is up from 221 on Friday.

An additional 19 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,115.

26 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 6,945 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
