SD DOH: 163 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 25 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Tuesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 134 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 104,509.

29 of the 163 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 1,938.

24 confirmed cases were reported West River: 14 in Pennington County, three in Custer County, two each in Lawrence and Oglala Lakota Counties and one each in Meade, Mellette and Tripp Counties.

One new probable case was reported West River in Haakon County.

In South Dakota, 2,419 cases are considered active, that number is down from 2,485 on Monday.

An additional 229 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 114,323.

98 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,068 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
