SD DOH: 16 total new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Wednesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,220.

No new probable cases were reported.

Two new deaths were added, putting the states death toll at 2,035.

10 confirmed cases were reported West River: four in Pennington County, three in Meade County, two in Custer County, and one in Oglala Lakota County.

In South Dakota, 148 cases are considered active, that number is up from 146 on Tuesday.

An additional 11 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,353.

19 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 6,831 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
