SD DOH: 16 total new COVID-19 cases, one death statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Thursday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,088.

No cases are considered as new probable cases.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,027.

Nine confirmed cases were reported West River: eight in Pennington County and one in Meade County.

No new probable cases were reported West River.

In South Dakota, 165 cases are considered active, that number is down from 170 on Wednesday.

An additional 15 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,201.

28 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 6,918 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
