SD DOH: 158 total new COVID-19 cases, one death statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — On Wednesday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 110 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 106,788.

48 of the 158 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 1,954.

22 confirmed cases were reported West River: 11 in Pennington County, three in Lawrence County, two in in Fall River County and one each in Butte, Lyman, Meade, Oglala Lakota, Stanley and Tripp Counties.

Three new probable cases were reported West River: one each in Bennett, Lyman and Pennington Counties.

In South Dakota, 2,043 cases are considered active, that number is down from 2,078 on Tuesday.

An additional 191 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 117,520.

115 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 7,261 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
