SD DOH: 1,426 total new COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths statewide
PIERRE, S.D. — On Sunday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 1,258 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 52,603.
168 of Sunday’s 1,426 total cases are considered as new probable cases.
13 South Dakota residents have died from coronavirus-related complications: two in Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties, one in Bon Homme, Brown, Butte, Codington, Deuel, Roberts, Spink, Turner, and Yangton Counties.
324 confirmed cases were reported in West River: 104 in Pennington County, 48 in Lawrence County, 32 in Dewey County, 28 in Meade County, 20 in Oglala Lakota County, 12 in Butte, Custer, and Todd Counties, eight in Bennett, Fall River, and Tripp Counties, seven in Gregory County, six in Jackson and Stanley Counties, five in Corson and Lyman Counties, and three in Perkins County.
47 probable cases were reported in West River: 24 in Pennington County, eight in Meade County, six in Lawrence County, two in Custer and Oglala Lakota Counties, and one in Dewey, Fall River, Lyman, Stanley, and Todd Counties.
In South Dakota, 15,750 cases are considered active, that number is up from 15,050 on Sunday. An additional 715 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 39,118.
546 people are currently hospitalized, with a total of 3,184 people have ever been hospitalized.
