SD DOH: 14 total new COVID-19 cases, one death statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Friday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 11 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,177.

One new case is considered as a new probable case.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,030.

Seven confirmed cases were reported West River: two in Meade County and one each in Bennett, Butte, Custer, Oglala Lakota and Pennington Counties.

In South Dakota, 170 cases are considered active, that number is up from 164 on Thursday.

An additional seven people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,292.

15 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 6,859 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
