SD DOH: 11 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, five West River

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — On Friday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 10 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 109,041.

One of the 11 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 2,026.

Four confirmed cases were reported West River: two in Pennington County and one each in Meade and Tripp Counties.

One new probable case was reported West River in Dewey County.

In South Dakota, 221 cases are considered active, that number is up from 230 on Thursday.

An additional 17 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 122,096.

34 people are currently hospitalized; a total of 6,959 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
