SD DOH: 1,088 total new COVID-19 cases, active cases down statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 914 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 129,476.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 2,177.

356 confirmed cases were reported West River: 183 in Pennington County, 39 in Meade County, 35 in Lawrence County, 18 in Oglala Lakota County, 15 in Fall River County, 14 in Custer County, 11 each in Butte and Todd Counties, five each in Harding and Corson Counties, four in Perkins County, three each in Dewey, Lyman, and Tripp Counties, two each in Stanley and Gregory Counties, and one each in Haakon, Bennett, and Mellette Counties.

39 probable cases were reported West River: 21 in Pennington County, six in Todd County, three each in Meade and Mellette Counties, two in Lyman County, and one each in Butte, Stanley, Fall River, and Tripp Counties.

In South Dakota, 6,089 cases are considered active, that number is down from 6,539 on Tuesday.

An additional 1,538 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 141,071.
