SD DOH: 105 new COVID-19 cases, four deaths statewide

PIERRE, S.D. – Thursday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show a total of 9,273 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 105 from Wednesday.

17 of Thursday’s new cases are West River – five each in Pennington and Lawrence Counties, three in Custer County, two in Butte County and one each in Dewey and Ziebach Counties.

70 of the 94 reported COVID-19 infections at the Camp Judson cluster outbreak in Keystone have recovered.

Four South Dakota residents have died from coronavirus-related complications- two in Pennington County, one in Oglala Lakota County and one in Minnehaha County. Statewide, 141 have died.

Across the state, 987 cases are considered active. That number is up from 951 on Wednesday. An additional 65 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 8,145.

A total of 44 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 861 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.
