SD DOH: 102 new COVID-19 cases statewide, 20 West River

PIERRE, S.D. – Wednesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show a total of 9,815 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 102 from Tuesday.

One additional Lyman County resident has died from coronavirus-related complications. A total of three people have died in that county alone. Statewide, 147 have died.

20 of Wednesday’s new cases are West River – 12 in Pennington County, four in Todd County and one each in Corson, Dewey, Lawrence and Meade Counties

Across the state, 1,062 cases are considered active. That number is up from 1,060 on Tuesday. An additional 99 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 8,606.

A total of 59 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 892 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.
