SD DCI investigating fatal Custer County shooting

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating a pair of shooting incidents, one Oglala Lakota County and one in Custer County, that left one individual dead.

SD DCI Director David Natvig confirmed in a release on Friday that DCI agents are assisting with a shooting incident that took place in eastern Custer
County on Thursday near Red Shirt Table.

The incident was related to a separate shooting incident that occurred on the Pine Ridge Reservation, involving an officer from the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Safety. The officer was unharmed.

At this time one individual is reported as deceased and two individuals are in custody.
