School of Mines to host two career fairs in the spring

Sd MinesRAPID CITY, S.D. — The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology will hold its in-person springtime career fair on Tuesday, February 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The career fair will be held at the King Center on campus and feature 109 vendors with employers from local companies to Fortune 500 firms according to a release from the School of Mines. A virtual fair is also planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 24.

“Our career fairs are among the largest in the state and they show the immense value the university provides for both the local and national economy,” says Mines President Jim Rankin. “Our state and nation require trained STEM professionals to tackle modern challenges. These students have bright futures as leaders and innovators. They will change the world.”

The Spring 2022 Career Fair will include vendors and employers from companies, military, governmental organizations and universities from 26 different states. 32 in-state companies will also be represented with 11 of them from the Black Hills.

Some of the business and organizations attending include Coeur Mining Inc., Scull Construction Service Inc., Innovative Systems LLC, Caterpillar, the US Navy and more.

South Dakota Mines career fairs are only open to Mines students and alumni.
