Sasquatch claim first series sweep of the season against Gem City

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Spearfish Sasquatch dug out the brooms on Thursday when the team completed its first series sweep of the season.

The Sasquatch rallied to beat the Gem City Bison, 4-2 at Black Hills Energy Stadium in Spearfish.

The Bison got on the scoreboard first as Randy Stultz hit a homerun in the top of the third.

The Sasquatch finally answered in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Damon Gaither hit a grounder into left field. The single scored Drew Biggerstaff to tie the game up at one a piece.

The Sasquatch added three more runs in the sixth inning and held on for the victory.

Spearfish has now won three in a row and improves 8-16 on the season.

The Sasquatch will host the Badlands Big Sticks for a three-game series starting on Friday, June 24.

There will be fireworks after the game on Friday.

Then its First Responders night on Saturday, June 25.
