Salvation Army hosts Coats for Kids

 

 

RAPID CITY, S.D. — As temperatures drop, many children in the Black Hills area may not have adequate coats for the colder weather.

The Salvation Army will once again be distributing new “Coats for Kids” to prepare the youths of the Black Hills for the colder weather that is to come. Parents will be able to fill out an application and receive the coats before leaving the distribution site.

“It warms our hearts to be able to bundle up our youngsters as they daily make their way to school,” writes Major Vangie O’Neil in a statement.

To sign up, participants will need a picture ID and proof of children receiving a coat, i.e. Medicaid cards or birth certificate. Sign up and distributions will be on the same day.

Dates: Monday and Tuesday, September 27 and 28

Times: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Location: The Salvation Army, 405 North Cherry Avenue, Rapid City
