Salute to Ellsworth ready to go in Box Elder

BOX ELDER, S.D. — The city of Box Elder is ready to host the second annual Salute to Ellsworth Saturday morning.

The Box Elder chamber, City Council and Douglas School District ate teaming up to present the community celebration. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with the Wings and Wheels classic car show at the South Dakota Air and Space Museum. The show will be open to the public until 2 p.m..

At City Hall, live entertainment and food truck options will be set up from 1-6 p.m. You can receive a $5 meal token for the vendors by bringing proof of residence in Box Elder or by bringing a military ID.

The city will end the day by firing off the unused fireworks from the Fourth of July, when rain forced Box Elder to cancel their firework display.
